McLennan CAD Handles Your Property Appraisal

McLennan Central Appraisal District sets property values for all 44 taxing entities in the county, but a separate office collects the tax.

Two offices handle property taxes here. McLennan Central Appraisal District (MCAD) is the office that appraises your property and processes exemptions. The county Tax Assessor-Collector then sends the bill and collects payment. These are not the same office.

If you think your value is wrong, you protest with MCAD — not the tax office. MCAD serves Waco and the surrounding cities. Its website lets you search properties, file exemptions, and find protest forms. Check mclennancad.org for current deadlines. Deadlines can change from year to year, so always confirm the date.
