Oak Creek Reservoir is a 2,375-acre lake about 8 miles north of Bronte on Highway 70 with fishing for catfish, crappie, and white bass, managed under TPWD statewide regulations.
Oak Creek Reservoir was built in the early 1950s and fills from Oak Creek in Coke County. The City of Sweetwater owns the reservoir, which supplies drinking water to Sweetwater, Blackwell, Bronte, and Robert Lee. The lake covers about 2,375 acres and has a maximum depth of 51 feet.
TPWD rates catfish, crappie, and white bass fishing as good. Largemouth bass fishing is fair. The lake also has sunfish, including redear and redbreast sunfish per TPWD. Boat ramps and facilities are available; water levels can affect ramp access. All fish are managed under TPWD statewide regulations.
