Proctor Lake in Comanche County is a public reservoir known for hybrid striped bass, with four public access points run by the Army Corps of Engineers.
Proctor Lake sits off US 67 in Comanche County. TPWD lists it as one of the best hybrid striped bass lakes in the state. The lake also holds largemouth bass, white crappie, channel catfish, blue catfish, and flathead catfish.
Four access points — Promontory Point, Sowell Creek, Park at Dam, and Copperas Creek — are open year-round and managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers. Each has concrete boat ramps, parking, restrooms, and picnic areas. Some have camping. Fees apply.
