Who Handles Your Property Tax in Edwards County
Two separate offices handle property appraisal and tax collection in Edwards County, and knowing the difference saves you time.
The Edwards Central Appraisal District (ECAD) sets the value of your property. It does not collect taxes. The Tax Assessor-Collector's office collects what you owe. ECAD's office is at 101 E. Main St. in Rocksprings (mail goes to P.O. Box 858). You can reach ECAD at 830-683-4189 or edwardscad.org.
Five taxing entities use the appraisal roll: Edwards County, the City of Rocksprings, Rocksprings ISD, Nueces Canyon Consolidated ISD, and the Real-Edwards County Conservation and Reclamation District. Each sets its own tax rate. Check the Texas Comptroller's county directory page to see the current list of taxing units.
