Property Tax
Who Handles Your Property Tax in San Jacinto County
Two separate offices handle property taxes here — one sets your home's value, and a different one collects the bill.
The San Jacinto County Appraisal District decides how much your property is worth for tax purposes. It is a separate office from the tax collector. The appraisal district is at 99 Slade St. in Coldspring. You contact them to dispute your value or apply for exemptions.
The Tax Assessor-Collector is a different office. It sends the actual tax bills and takes your payments. Both offices are in Coldspring. If you own a home here, knowing which office handles which job saves a lot of confusion. The Texas Comptroller lists contact details for both at their county directory page.
