Property Tax
Who handles your property taxes in Goliad County
Two separate offices handle property taxes here — one sets your value, and another collects the bill.
The Goliad Central Appraisal District sets the appraised value of your property. It is separate from the office that collects your taxes. Knowing the difference saves confusion. The appraisal district is at 161 N. Welch St. in Goliad.
The Tax Assessor-Collector's office sends your tax bills and takes your payments. It is at 329 W. Franklin St. in Goliad. Your tax bill covers several taxing units at once: Goliad County, Goliad ISD, the City of Goliad (if you live inside city limits), the Goliad County Groundwater Conservation District, and the San Antonio River Authority. Check the Texas Comptroller's county directory for current contact details, since staff and rates can change.
