Tax Payment Deadlines
When Travis County Property Taxes Are Due
Tax bills go out around October 1 and are due by January 31 — missing that date costs you.
The Travis County Tax Office mails bills around October 1 each year. You have until January 31 to pay with no penalty. If you miss that date, penalties and interest start adding up on February 1. They can grow fast, so pay on time.
You can pay online, by mail, or in person. The Tax Office is at 2433 Ridgepoint Drive in Austin. Call (512) 854-9473 with questions or go to tax-office.traviscountytx.gov. The current tax assessor-collector is Celia Israel. If you have an escrow account through your mortgage lender, your lender may pay on your behalf — but confirm this with them before the deadline.
