Two Offices Handle Your Property Taxes in Lee County
In Lee County, one office sets your property value and a separate office collects your tax bill — knowing the difference saves time.
The Lee Central Appraisal District (Lee CAD) figures out what your property is worth each year. That value is the starting point for your tax bill. Lee CAD is at 898 E. Richmond St., Suite 100, in Giddings. They handle homestead exemption applications and protests about your appraised value.
The Tax Assessor-Collector's office is next door in Suite 103. That office sends the actual tax bills and collects payments. If your check is late, you deal with them — not Lee CAD. The Texas Comptroller lists both offices and their contact info on its county directory page.
