Most hunting in Kendall County is on private land
Kendall County has little public hunting land. Most access requires a lease or written permission from a private landowner.
Texas has over one million acres of land open to public hunting across the state. But Kendall County itself has very little public hunting land.
The Hill Country here is almost entirely privately owned. Most hunters either lease land or get written permission from the landowner.
The TPWD Outdoor Annual lists any state hunting lands open in or near Kendall County. You can also search for public hunting areas on the TPWD website.
If you plan to hunt on private land, get written permission or a signed lease first. Hunting without permission is a criminal offense in Texas.
