The Sabine River Forms Orange County's Eastern Border with Louisiana

The Sabine River and Sabine Lake border Orange County and offer public fishing access for catfish, crappie, and largemouth bass.

The Sabine River runs along Orange County's eastern edge, separating Texas from Louisiana. Where it meets the Gulf, it widens into Sabine Lake. These waters are popular for catfish, crappie, and largemouth bass fishing.

TPWD maintains fishing access information and maps for the Sabine River on its website. You need a valid Texas fishing license to fish here. If you are fishing from the Lower Neches WMA, a public hunting or limited public use permit is also required. Check TPWD for current regulations and access points.
