Your Property Tax Bill Can Include Up to 16 Taxing Units

Lamb County has 16 active taxing units — including school districts, cities, and a water district — each setting its own tax rate on your property.

When you own property in Lamb County, you may pay taxes to several different entities at once. The Texas Comptroller lists 16 active taxing units in the county. These include the county government, eight independent school districts, six cities, and a water conservation district.

Each unit sets its own rate. Your total tax bill is the sum of all the rates that apply to your specific address. Rates change each year. To see current adopted rates for each unit, visit the Lamb County Appraisal District website or the Texas Comptroller's county directory.
