The Trinity River Authority Manages Water Across the Basin

The Trinity River Authority of Texas provides water treatment, flood planning, and basin coordination for municipalities including those in Dallas County.

The Trinity River Authority (TRA) is a conservation and reclamation district that covers the nearly 18,000-square-mile Trinity River basin. The Dallas/Fort Worth area falls in Region C of the basin, which accounts for most of the basin's water demand.

TRA works with municipalities on water supply, wastewater treatment, and flood planning. It has served as local sponsor for U.S. Army Corps projects such as Joe Pool Lake. TRA does not control water rights — those are handled by TCEQ. Visit trinityra.org for information.
