You Can Fish the Trinity River in Dallas, But Read the Advisories

TPWD lists public access points for fishing along the Trinity River in Dallas, but fish consumption advisories are in effect for some stretches.

Texas Parks and Wildlife identifies at least three public access points along the main Trinity River channel in Dallas. Additional spots exist on the Elm Fork and other tributaries in the county. Common species include catfish and bass.

Some areas carry consumption advisories. Mountain Creek Lake in Dallas County has a full no-eat advisory for all fish. Other stretches have restrictions on certain species. Check current advisories with the Texas Department of State Health Services before eating what you catch. Find access points at tpwd.texas.gov.
