Turkey Hunting

Wild Turkey Season Is Open in Lubbock County

Lubbock County is in the North Zone for wild turkey hunting, with both fall and spring seasons available.

Texas Parks and Wildlife designates Lubbock County as part of the Wild Turkey North Zone. There is a fall turkey season that runs alongside the deer season in November through early January, and a spring season that typically runs from late March through mid-May. The bag limit is four turkeys per season.

As with deer, most turkey hunting here is on private land. Landowner permission is required. Always verify current season dates and bag limits in the TPWD Outdoor Annual, as they can change from year to year.
