Village Creek itself is rare: it is one of the few free-flowing, undammed creeks in Texas. The park rents kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards. You can also fish for catfish, bass, and sunfish. The landscape shifts from sandy uplands to cypress-tupelo swamps, and alligators live here. The park sits right on the edge of the Big Thicket ecosystem.
