Deer Hunting Rules for Hamilton County

Hamilton County is in the North Zone and allows up to five deer per season, with specific rules on how many bucks you can take.

Texas Parks and Wildlife sets Hamilton County's deer bag limit at five deer total per season — no more than two bucks. Of those two bucks, only one may have an inside antler spread of 13 inches or more. A legal buck must have at least one unbranched antler, or an inside spread of 13 inches or greater.

Seasons change each year, so always check the current TPWD Outdoor Annual before you go out. Bow hunters need an archery endorsement. Verify the season dates and any special rules for the current year at tpwd.texas.gov.
