Deer Hunting in Limestone County: What the Antler Rule Means

Limestone County has a special antler restriction for white-tailed deer: only one buck per season may have an inside spread of 13 inches or more.

You may take two bucks per season in Limestone County, but only one of those bucks can have a spread of 13 inches or greater between the antlers. A legal buck must have at least one unbranched antler or that 13-inch spread. This rule is designed to let younger bucks grow before they are harvested.

The total deer bag limit is four deer per season — no more than two bucks and two antlerless deer combined. Antlerless deer may require an MLDP tag depending on the time of season. Javelina have no open season in Limestone County. Season dates change each year, so always check the current TPWD Outdoor Annual before you hunt.
