Fishing Lake Limestone: Bass, Catfish, and Crappie

Lake Limestone is a 12,553-acre reservoir on the Navasota River managed by the Brazos River Authority, known for good bass and catfish fishing.

The lake sits about 15 miles southeast of Groesbeck on FM 3371, spread across Limestone, Leon, and Robertson counties. It was impounded in 1978. TPWD rates largemouth bass, catfish (channel, blue, and flathead), crappie, and white bass as good catches here. Spring is a strong time for bass and crappie.

Public bank access is limited. The Brazos River Authority is the reservoir controlling authority and provides park and boat ramp access. Check TPWD's lake page for current water levels, fish habitat maps, and access point details before your trip.
