Deer Hunting in Washington County Follows North Zone Rules

Washington County is in the North Zone for white-tailed deer, which sets the season dates and bag limits hunters must follow.

In Washington County, the white-tailed deer bag limit is four deer total per season. No more than two can be bucks. No more than two can be antlerless (does). Only one buck may have an inside spread of 13 inches or greater. The other legal buck must have at least one unbranched antler.

Archery season typically opens in late September. General season runs from November through early January. There are also youth-only and muzzleloader seasons in January. Any antlerless deer you harvest must be reported to TPWD within 24 hours using the Texas Hunt and Fish app or online. Always verify current season dates and bag limits at the TPWD Outdoor Annual before you go.
