Tax Payment
Property Tax Bills Are Due January 31
Washington County property tax bills are mailed in October and must be paid by January 31 to avoid penalties.
Bills go out in mid-October each year. You have until January 31 of the following year to pay without penalty. After that date, penalties and interest start right away, even if you never received your bill. Not getting a bill is not a legal excuse for late payment.
Payments go to Consolidated Tax Collections of Washington County. If you cannot pay on time, there are options for seniors and disabled homeowners to defer payment. Check with the appraisal district at washingtoncad.org or (979) 277-3740 for current payment details.
