Check DriveTexas Before Traveling on Rural Roads After Severe Weather
Fannin County has many FM roads that can flood or close after heavy rain or ice, and TxDOT's DriveTexas site shows live road conditions statewide.
Fannin County is served by Farm-to-Market roads and US highways. After heavy rain, low-water crossings near Bois d'Arc Creek and Red River tributaries can flood quickly. In winter, ice and sleet can make rural roads dangerous with little warning.
DriveTexas.org is the official TxDOT site for live road conditions, closures, and camera feeds. It is free and works on mobile. Check it before a long drive on unfamiliar FM roads, especially after a storm. Never drive around a road-closed barricade — even shallow floodwater can sweep a vehicle off course.
