FEMA updated Parker County's flood maps — check your zone
Preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps were released for Parker County in early 2025, and residents had a chance to appeal.
FEMA released updated preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) for Parker County in early 2025. The maps cover the cities of Aledo, Annetta South, Azle, Cresson, Fort Worth, Hudson Oaks, Weatherford, Willow Park, and unincorporated areas of the county.
A flood map shows which areas face high risk of flooding. Lenders require flood insurance if your home is in a Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA). After preliminary maps are released, residents can appeal if they have technical data — such as survey or engineering information — showing the map is wrong. The National Flood Hazard Layer viewer at msc.fema.gov lets you look up any address. Contact your city or county floodplain administrator if you think your property's zone is wrong.
