Water Wells

Many Parker County properties rely on private water wells

Homes outside city water service often use private wells, and TCEQ keeps records of well drilling reports for the county.

Parker County sits over the Northern Trinity and Woodbine aquifer system. Many rural and suburban properties outside city limits get water from private wells. Before buying rural land, ask whether the property has a well. Find out how deep it is and whether the water has been tested.

TCEQ's Water Well Report Viewer has over 800,000 historical well records for the whole state, including Parker County. You can search by location to see nearby well depths and logs. Parker County is served by the Upper Trinity Groundwater Conservation District, which covers Parker, Hood, Wise, and Montague counties. The district regulates new well permits and sets local groundwater rules. Check the TWDB or the Upper Trinity GCD for current requirements on new wells.
