Guadalupe River State Park: Swimming and Camping Near the Hill Country
Guadalupe River State Park offers four miles of river frontage for swimming, tubing, fishing, and camping about 30 miles from San Antonio.
The park sits in Comal and Kendall counties, but it is a popular spot for Guadalupe County residents. It has 13 miles of hiking and biking trails, 85 water and electric campsites, and a separate walk-in camping area. Day-use entry is $7 for adults. Kids 12 and under get in free.
Honey Creek State Natural Area is right next door and offers guided tours. TPWD also stocks rainbow trout in the river during cooler months. Weekends fill up fast. Make a reservation before you go. Visit tpwd.texas.gov for current fees and booking.
