Appraisal Protest
Disagree With Your Appraisal? You Can Protest
Property owners in Guadalupe County can formally challenge their appraised value each year before a set deadline.
Each spring, the Guadalupe Appraisal District mails notices with updated property values. If you think your value is too high, you can file a protest. The 2026 protest deadline was May 15. Deadlines can shift year to year, so check guadalupead.org each spring.
You can file your protest online through the GAD taxpayer portal. An Appraisal Review Board (ARB) hears disputes. The ARB is a panel of local citizens that is separate from the appraisal district. It makes the final call on values. Filing a protest costs nothing and takes only a few minutes online.
