Lake Tawakoni, a 37,879-acre reservoir partly in Hunt County, is known for blue catfish, striped bass, and crappie.
Lake Tawakoni sits about 15 miles southeast of Greenville and spans Hunt, Rains, and Van Zandt counties. TPWD describes catfishing as one of the lake's sure bets, with channel and blue catfish abundant and strong runs of striped and hybrid striped bass.
