Lake Texana offers fishing and camping near Edna

Lake Texana, about eight miles east of Edna on the Navidad River, is a 9,727-acre reservoir managed for water supply and public recreation.

Lake Texana sits on the Navidad River in eastern Jackson County. The Lavaca-Navidad River Authority (LNRA) manages the lake. It was built for drinking water and industrial water supply, but it also has camping, boat ramps, and fishing piers open to the public.

The lake holds blue catfish, largemouth bass, white crappie, and white bass. Water levels can swing 5 to 10 feet, which affects where fish hold. All fishing follows standard statewide TPWD regulations — a valid Texas fishing license is required. Boaters must clean all vegetation from boats and trailers before launching; invasive plants like water hyacinth are present. Check TPWD for current season rules and the LNRA for park reservations.
