TPWD's Annual Public Hunting Permit opens access to state lands

Texas hunters can pay for a single annual permit to access public hunting lands across the state, including areas near Parker County.

TPWD sells an Annual Public Hunting (APH) Permit that lets you hunt on about one million acres of state land. The permit covers deer, hogs, dove, quail, turkey, waterfowl, and small game across more than 180 areas.

The permit also allows fishing, camping, and hiking on those same lands. A limited version costs less and covers only non-hunting access. Most public hunting land in this part of Texas is in adjacent counties — check the TPWD public hunting lands map booklet each season for which areas are open near Parker County. The permit is not a substitute for a hunting license.
