Vehicle Registration
Texas Uses One Sticker for Both Inspection and Registration
Texas combined vehicle inspection and registration into one process called Two Steps, One Sticker, so you only see one windshield sticker with one expiration date.
Since March 2015, Texas has linked vehicle inspection and registration. You must pass inspection before you can renew your registration. After that, you get one blue-bordered sticker. That sticker shows both inspection and registration are current.
In Fannin County, renew your registration at the county Tax Assessor-Collector office or online through TxDMV. Your vehicle must pass a state safety inspection first. Go to an authorized inspection station. The date on the sticker is your yearly renewal deadline. Keep your insurance current too. It is checked at inspection.
