The University of Texas of the Permian Basin (UTPB), established in 1973, is a four-year university in Odessa that serves the West Texas region.
Odessa is home to the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. Most people call it UTPB. It opened in 1973 as part of the University of Texas System. It is a four-year university that offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees. Students come from across the Permian Basin region to attend.
Odessa College is also in the city. It is a two-year community college that was founded in 1946. It is a good option for students who want to start local and keep costs low.
