Vehicle Registration in Walker County: Two Steps, One Sticker
Walker County residents renew their vehicle registration at the county tax office, after passing a state inspection within 90 days of the renewal date.
Texas uses a program called Two Steps, One Sticker. Step one is passing a vehicle safety inspection no more than 90 days before your registration expires. Step two is renewing your registration — online, by mail, or in person at the Walker County Vehicle Registration office.
The office is at 1100 University Ave. in Huntsville and can be reached at (936) 436-4900. You can also renew online through TxDMV or the Texas.gov portal. Both inspection and registration share the same expiration date, so you get one sticker instead of two. Check TxDMV.gov for current fees and renewal steps.
