Severe thunderstorms and tornadoes are real risks here
Hunt County sits in North Texas, a region with a history of severe thunderstorms, hail, and tornadoes, particularly in spring.
The DFW and North Texas area — including Hunt County — sees frequent severe weather from March through May. Tornadoes, large hail, and straight-line winds are the main threats. Flash flooding along the Sabine River forks is an additional risk.
