Camping and Fishing
Lake Bob Sandlin State Park
Lake Bob Sandlin State Park sits about twelve miles southwest of Mount Pleasant and offers camping, fishing, and hiking on a 9,000-acre lake.
The park covers about 640 acres along the wooded north shore of Lake Bob Sandlin. The lake spans parts of Titus, Camp, and Franklin counties. You can catch largemouth bass, catfish, crappie, and white bass. In winter, TPWD stocks rainbow trout. The park has a lighted fishing pier — you do not need a fishing license to fish from the pier or shore inside a state park. You do need a license to fish from a boat.
The park has 75 campsites with water and electricity, plus primitive sites and screened shelters. There are 3.3 miles of trails for hiking or mountain biking. The daily entry fee for adults is $5; children 12 and under get in free. The park can fill up on weekends. Reservations are recommended. The park address is 341 State Park Road 2117, Pittsburg, TX 75686.
